| Nomura Cup |
The inaugural Asia-Pacific Amateur Golf Team Championship was held in the Philippines in 1963. Due to a very limited budget at the initial stage, the then Vice President of Japan Golf Association kindly contributed the trophy cup to the Championship. To recognize Mr. Nomura's generosity, the event has been named Nomura Cup from then on.
The event's purpose is to develop the sport of golf in the Asia-Pacific region as well as to enhance mutual friendship among APGC member associations. The number of participating teams reaches 18 this year, a new record in Nomura Cup history. The Japan team has won 8 championships, followed by Australia team ,7 championships, and Chinese Taipei team, 5 championships. The defending champion from Australia has won the Nomura cup four times in succession since 1999.
野村盃
第一屆的亞太高爾夫隊際錦標賽，於1963年在菲律賓舉行，草創時期，經費拮据，當時的日本高協副理事長野村先生慷慨解囊，捐贈永久盃給大會，大會為表示對野村先生敬意因此也稱為野村盃。
同時為了推動亞太地區高爾夫運動和增進各國之友誼，本賽事每兩年舉辦一次，今年度來台參賽的國家多達１８國，為歷年之最。目前日本隊居冠，已先後贏得八屆冠軍；澳洲隊次之共贏得七屆冠軍；中華台北名列第三，共獲得五屆冠軍。衛冕的澳洲隊自1999年起已蟬聯四屆冠軍。 |
