Asia-Pacific Amateur Golf Team Championship
Conditions Of The Championship
CONDITIONS OF THE CHAMPIONSHIP

1.General
The Asia-Pacific Amateur Golf Team Championship 2007 shall be played in accordance
with the Rules of Golf as approved by the R&A and any Local Rules as approved by the
Championship Committee. The Championship Committee will be responsible for making
all related decisions to the Championship. In the absence of the full Committee members,
such members as may be present at any time may give a decision and any decision so
given shall be deemed to be a decision of the Championship Committee.

2.Eligibility
Each team shall consist of four (4) male players and a captain.
The players of each team shall be:
a. Amateur golfers as defined by the Rules of Amateur Status of the R&A; and
b. Citizens of the country or area of the member association represented, except that in cases where a Team of citizens is impracticable, players normally resident in that country may be included.

3.Programme

4.Format
The Championship is decided by stroke play over four (4) rounds of 18 holes each.
Disqualification of a player under the Rules of Golf in any round shall not disqualify him for
any subsequent round unless the Championship Committee determines otherwise.


5.Scoring
In each round the total of the three (3) lowest scores by competitors in each team shall
constitute the Team score for that round. The total of the Team scores for the four (4)
rounds shall be the Team’s score for the Championship. The Champion shall be the Team
with the lowest such total score for four (4) rounds.

6.Decision on Ties
a. In the event of a tie for the Championship, the winning team shall be decided by a
hole-by hole sudden death play-off.
b.es for second and third place will be decided by the following procedure:
(a) Taking into account the fourth player’s score in the final round.
(b) If still a tie, the fourth player’s score in the third round.
(c) If still a tie, the aggregate of the fourth player’s scores in the first and the second
rounds.
(d) If still a tie, the place will be shared.

7.Specification of Golf Balls
Players shall play with the ball which is listed in the current R&A and/or USGA Conforming
Golf Balls. Penalty: DISQUALIFICATION

8.Caddies & Trolleys
House caddies of the club will be assigned to each team member during the Championship
rounds. No player may use his own caddie. Caddies may use trolleys, however, players
must walk at all times during a stipulated round.

9.Advice
In accordance with the Note to Rule 8 of the Rules of Golf, each team may appoint one
person (in addition to the persons from whom advice may be asked under that Rule) who
may give advice (excluding pointing out a line for putting) to members of that team. Such
person shall be an amateur golfer and identified to the Championship Committee before
giving advice.

10.Time of Starting (Note to Rule 6-3a)
If the player arrives at his starting point, ready to play, within five minutes after his starting
time in the absence of circumstances which warrant waiving the penalty of disqualification
as provided in Rule 33-7, the penalty for failure to start on time is two strokes. Penalty for
lateness beyond five minutes is disqualification.

11.Pace of Play
Rule 6-7 will be strictly enforced. Each group must maintain its position on the course with
respect to the group preceding it. Any group with a clear hole in front of it will be
considered out of position. Penalties will be issued to individuals in such groups who by
their pace contribute to such delay. Warnings may not be issued prior to penalties.

12.Suspension of Play ; Resumption of Play
a.Procedures shall be taken in accordance with Rule 6-8 b, c, and d for normal
suspension of play (not dangerous situation such as lightning).
b.When play is suspended by the Committee due to the dangerous weather situation
such as lightning), if the competitors in a group are between the play of two holes, they
must not resume play until the Committee has ordered a resumption of play. If they
are in the process of playing a hole, they must discontinue play immediately and must
not resume play until the Committee has ordered a resumption of play. If a
Competitor fails to discontinue play immediately, he is disqualified unless
circumstances warrant waiving the penalty as provided in Rule 33 – 7.
Penalty for breach of this condition: DISQUALIFICATION
(Note to Rule 6-8b)
c.Normal suspension of play: Several consecutive short notes of siren, repeated.
Suspension for dangerous situation: One prolonged note of siren.
Resumption of play: One prolonged note of siren.

13.Prizes
The winning team shall be presented with the Nomura Cup. The Association of the
winning team shall be responsible for its safe keeping, engraving and transportation to the
venue of the next Championship.

Prizes shall be awarded to the players and captain of the winning and runner-up teams.
A prize shall be awarded to the player returning the lowest individual score over the
Championship.
