The Mongolian, For the First Time at Nomura Cup.
In the high-altitude low-temperature country, however, there is only four months to play in a year, and the rest of the time is too freezing to play. With only a few years of experience and limited time for practice, the Mongolian players participated at the tournament in order to practice their skills with others so they could become champions in later years.
The Mongolian team participated at the APGC for the first time, but four of the players didn’t play well on the first round.

“Mongolia built its first 9-hole golf course 3 years ago,” said Dorj Lkhagva, at 51, who is the oldest of all players at the tournament, “and added one more holes to it every year. Now we have three 18-hole courses in Mongolian. I started playing only three years ago and was among the first Mongolian-trained golfers”

Sunrise GC is famous for its challenge, and during the first round, some of players faced unpredictable situations. The par-4 10th hole, often windy, is located at a low hill, and on its right is a large pond that has posed difficulty to players. There are at least two players, who scored 9 and 11 strokes respectively.

James Krishna of Fiji teed off into the pond, and played out of bound again on approach. He finally took 7 strokes before on the green and ended up with 11 strokes on this hole for a total score of 93 today. Noh Seung-Yul of South Korea also shot his ball into the pond and finished at 76.
Hardjito of Indonesia shot his ball into a bush on the par-4 8th hole and found two identical balls at the bush. He checked with the referee and learned that all two balls were his because he shot one ball into the same place on Monday. Failed to tell which one he used today, he received a two-stroke penalty. He ended up with 4 over on this hole, and finished at 77 today.
